Academics: Middle and Upper School

Download Curriculum Overview 2011-12

The academic program at the middle and upper school is grounded in a rigorous, traditional curriculum requiring progressive mastery of knowledge in the English language, mathematics, social studies, science, and foreign language. The curriculum and the schedule for both the middle and upper school are designed to foster thinking that is critical and deep. A key theme throughout the curriculum is connection, and faculty continually work to illuminate connections across the disciplines. Technology is also integrated into all aspects of the curriculum. Each student is furnished with a laptop computer which can be used virtually anywhere on the wireless campus.

St. George's is dedicated to the belief that learning is a lifelong endeavor that enriches and provides substance to one's life. To that end, St. George's is a preparatory school for college and for life beyond college. The school's core academic requirements are demanding, reflecting the type of preparation that the nation's top colleges and universities seek in their applicants and students.
