Inclement Weather Policy

EMERGENCY CLOSING OF SCHOOL
In case of snow, inclement weather, dangerous driving conditions, or other emergencies, the school will announce whether it will close or have a delayed opening over the following television stations: WHBQ Channel 13, WPTY Channel 24, and WMC-TV Channel 5, and WREG Channel 3. If at all possible, this information will be released by 10:00 p.m. of the night prior to the day in question. Sometimes this is not possible due to overnight or early morning precipitation, and under these circumstances, the announcement will be given to the media by 6:00 a.m. that morning. This information will also be placed on the school’s website and outgoing phone message, and when at all possible, an email will be sent to the parent email address(es) designated for school communication. Due to a wide variety of transportation modes and weather-related circumstances, the school yields to the discretion and responsibility of all parents to determine whether their student should attend school during inclement weather or during other unusual occurrences deemed precarious by the parent.
